The summing up of the results of the participation and preparation of the federations for the Olympic Games in Tokyo has begun

Today, we started reviewing reports on the analysis of the participation and preparation of our federations and associations that took part in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The report of the ROWING&CANOE Federation of Uzbekistan was discussed first.

The meeting was attended by the chairman of the NOC Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov and his deputy Sherzod Tashmatov, Chairman of the Council of Sports Veterans of Uzbekistan Bahodir Mahsitov, Director of the RNCSM at the NOC Abdushukur Sadikov, Secretary General of the ROWING&CANOE Federation of Uzbekistan Vyacheslav Diedrich, heads of the Republican School of Higher Sports Skills in water sports, coaches of the national team.

First, the growth of the popularity of this sport was analyzed, as well as the state of the material and technical base in the regions. It should be noted that the President has created all conditions for the preparation of our rowers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games: at the request of the federation, modern boats from Portugal and Poland were purchased, regular local and foreign training camps were organized. But in the end, only 4 athletes managed to win a license. Therefore, the meeting was held in a critical spirit.

"Indeed, all conditions were created for the training of our athletes. The strategy developed by us for the preparatory period did not justify itself. In addition, our athletes lacked the spirit to win, and our youth lacked the experience. We have made the appropriate conclusions and now we will prepare for the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris based on this experience," Vyacheslav Diedrich said.

The officials gave the necessary instructions for further analysis of the results recorded by the coaching staff, strengthening the selection work and preparing a strong reserve. In addition, plans for preparing for competitions in Hangzhou and Paris were discussed.
