Safiya Burkhanova is the champion of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics!
The success of Uzbek para-athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games continues. A few minutes ago, the final among women in the shot put discipline ( category F12) ended.
Our representative in para-athletics Safiya Burkhanova showed a result of 14.78 m, which secured her a gold medal. It should be noted that her indicator was marked by the best this season. The second place was taken by the Italian Assunta Legnate (14.62), and the third — Rebecca Alvarez (13.72) from Mexico.
We remind you that at the Rio 2016 Paralympics, Burkhanova became a silver medalist. Thus, there were 17 medals in the piggy bank of Uzbekistan (7 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze).
