A press conference dedicated to the activities of the only fencing academy in Asia was held in the capital
In order to ensure the fulfillment of the instructions of the President of our country on training and improving the experience of qualified specialists in the field of sports, decrees in this direction, the Asian Fencing Academy is being created in our country for the first time this year. The Academy is opened in cooperation with the International Fencing Federation, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the IOC, Uzgumya. It will be attended by the strongest specialists of our continent for the training of qualified personnel in this sport. Today, the IOC held a press conference dedicated to the opening of this academy. It was attended by the rector of UZGUM Mahmud Boltabayev, the Secretary General of the Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan Gulnara Saidova, the coach of the republican school of higher sports skills in martial arts Gennady Pelikh.
First, Gulnara Saidova spoke in detail about the activities of the Academy.
“This will be the first academy in Asia. It still provides for the training of trainers. In fencing, such academies exist only in the European and Pan-American region. Currently, the last stage of registration of documents for the establishment of the Academy's activities is being carried out. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Government and Uzdjtsu for supporting this project. This clearly shows that Uzbek sport is developing, " G. Saidova said.
In turn, Mahmud Boltaboev also spoke about the activities of the academy and the work done on cooperation with the Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan.
It is worth noting that the Academy is fully funded by the International Fencing Federation. The training is designed for 1 year, during which the International Federation selects 6-8 former athletes who have recently completed their careers and want to become coaches. It is gratifying that now there are applications from applicants who want to study at this academy.
