The attention from the Head of State inspired and gave strength to the leadership of the NOC

As previously reported, yesterday the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented high state awards to athletes, coaches, doctors and officials who successfully participated in the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Among the awardees were the deputy chairmen of the NOC of Uzbekistan Saken Polatov, Azizjon Kamilov and Sherzod Tashmatov, who were awarded the order "Dustlik". Undoubtedly, such high attention will give the leadership of the Committee an incentive and motivation in further activities.

"Thanks to the care and support of our Esteemed President, new opportunities are opening up in our country not only for the development of sports, but also for sports managers like us. The Government fully supports the organization of local and international training camps for athletes, their participation in major competitions, helping to improve the experience of athletes. On behalf of the sports family of Uzbekistan, we express our great gratitude to our government and the Head of State. In the future, we promise to take advantage of the conditions created for us and achieve good results, demonstrating to the whole world the potential of the New Uzbekistan in the field of sports, in particular boxing. With the support of our President, we will hold the 2023 World Boxing Championship among adults for the first time. Now we are actively considering all organizational issues. We believe that the whole world will see the power of Uzbek boxing at this competition," Deputy Chairman of the Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan Saken Polatov expressed his opinion.

Azizjon Kamilov also shared his impressions.

"I am very glad that our modest work for the benefit of the country's sports was noted by the Head of State. Of course, this award will give us a lot of strength. New peaks are waiting for us ahead. It is safe to say that all our successes are achieved thanks to the conditions created by our Esteemed President. The fact that in 2022 Tashkent will host the World Judo Championship among adults for the first time is associated with increased attention to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle in our country. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all our compatriots on the upcoming Independence Day. Uzbek judo will continue to give new victories to the New Uzbekistan, " Chairman of the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan Azizjon Kamilov said.

Undoubtedly, the head of the operational staff of the NOC, Sherzod Tashmatov, who has done a great job in the process of preparing our Olympians for Tokyo 2020, was also inspired by such recognition.

"At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, we won historic results in several sports. In particular, we managed to climb the podium in taekwondo. What is more remarkable, our award was a gold medal. Also, Ulugbek Rashitov entered the history of Uzbek sports as the youngest Olympic champion. All these achievements are due to the conditions created by our Esteemed President for the younger generation. And we just help athletes and fulfill the instructions of the Head of State. It is a great honor for me that our President highly appreciated our modest work. With the support of the Head of the country, we can achieve any goal," said Sherzod Tashmatov, Chairman of the WT Taekwondo Association of Uzbekistan.

The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan expresses its deep gratitude to the Head of our state for his great achievements in the development of our sport and his policy of encouraging representatives of this sphere, and will make every effort to successfully participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and raise the image of the New Uzbekistan on the world stage.
