The report and the strategic plan of the Swimming Federation of Uzbekistan were criticized
With the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, the activities of swimming and rugby federations for the Tokyo 2020 cycle were discussed, as well as preparation plans for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Summer Games and the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
The meeting was also attended by the leadership of the NOC headed by Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov. First, the report of the Swimming Federation was heard. According to the report, during the Tokyo 2020 cycle, the swimming Federation received more than 25 billion rubles. soums. It is reported that 66 local and 26 foreign training camps were organized during this period.
During the meeting, it was criticized that Uzbek athletes in 4 swimming disciplines (swimming, diving, synchronized swimming and water polo) won only 2 licenses at Tokyo 2020. Moreover, they failed to win any medals at the Olympics.
At the end, the federation's plans for the next 3 years were discussed. Instructions were given to invite experienced coaches and consultants from abroad in each direction of swimming and to develop a specific action plan for the development of this sport in remote regions of the country.
After that, there was a discussion of the work done by the Rugby Federation of Uzbekistan, and a presentation of the three-year work plan of the federation until 2024.
According to the plan, the main focus will be on preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the development of concrete actions for the future, conclusions from the mistakes made.
At the end of the meeting, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the National Olympic Committee, sports federations and associations, other relevant ministries and organizations were tasked with thorough preparation of athletes for the upcoming prestigious international competitions, including the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In addition, officials were tasked with successfully participating in licensing and rating competitions at the 2024 Games in Paris and increasing the number of licenses and medals compared to Tokyo 2020.
