Shakhrullo Makhmudov: "In each weight category we will organize a competition like Akbar Juraev and Ruslan Nurudinov"
The NOC continues to consider the participation of our national teams at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In the afternoon, the participation of several federations was discussed.
One of the big meetings was held with the Weightlifting Federation of the country. The event was attended by the director of the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports at UzGUFKS, Professor Rashid Matkarimov, director of the Republican School of Higher Sportsmanship in Martial Arts Bahodir Mamatnazarov, representatives of the federation headed by First Deputy Chairman Shakhrullo Makhmudov. The meeting was held by the chairman of the NOC Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov. Many people were interested in the performance of Adhamjon Ergashev and Muattar Nabieva, who came close to the medal. Experts commented on this as follows:
"We were also waiting for a medal from Adham. But before the competition, he took on a lot of responsibility. Due to the strong excitement, he was unable to participate to the best of his abilities. As for Muattar Nabieva, she had a minor leg injury. This injury appeared in the spring. If we had agreed to the operation then, it would not have been possible to fully recover before the start of Tokyo 2020. The poet, despite the injury, had to take a risk," said the head coach of the national team, Bahrom Mendiboyev.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the use of new and modern techniques in the training of our athletes. Representatives of the federation are studying the specifics of the Chinese school and plan to implement a number of these areas of this school. It should be noted that the contract with Yerzhas Boltaev from Kazakhstan, who is currently working as a consultant coach in our team, will soon be completed and the parties will not renew the contract. Shakhrullo Makhmudov noted that during the preparation for Paris-2024, it is expected to develop strong internal competition in each weight category, in particular, as between Akbar Juraev and Ruslan Nurudinov.
Also, reports of horse breeding and equestrian sports federations were considered during the day. The reasons why licenses for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games were not won were discussed, and the necessary instructions were given to develop a strategy, draw appropriate conclusions and prepare for the Paris cycle.
